Please join us in lifting up our brother Brent Yim and his family. Brent is a Calvary Chapel Bible College Alumni and Teacher as well as the pastor of Temecula Community Church. In March of 2011 Brent suffered a massive headache and dizziness which led to an emergency room visit. Doctors discovered a tumor that was stage 4 Gliosarcoma brain cancer. Brent’s cancer is a rare and very aggressive form. See http://brentyimfund.com for more information on Brent and his family.

Recently the Conference Center and Inland Valley Victory Church hosted a night of worship and prayer for Brent and Family. In the video below you can hear an update and testimony from his family. We are asking for you to pray with us that God will continue to work in this situation.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.           Jeremiah 29:11

Patrick John McMullen, 20, of Moyock, NC, fell softly into the arms of his Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 18, 2012, while attending Calvary Chapel Bible College in Murrieta, CA. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, grandson, and friend. His vitality and love of life will be greatly missed. Patrick is survived by his parents, Kevin and Melisa McMullen of Moyock, NC, along with his brothers Joshua and wife Casey, Kevin and wife Eliza and their unborn baby, all of Virginia Beach, VA, James and sister Sarah of Moyock, NC, Grandmother Frances McMullen of Islandia, NY, Grandfather John Floyd of Saluda, NC, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Patrick was a gargantuan of life and personality; his height surpassed only by the width of his smile. His love and passion for Jesus Christ affected all who knew him, and the short life he lived will have a continual impact upon more people than he would have imagined. We look forward to the day when we will worship the Father together with our “Packrich”. The family will receive friends at the Murrieta Valley Funeral Home, on Thursday, March 22nd, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Memorial services will be held at Calvary Bible College in Murrieta, CA, on Friday, March 23rd, at 11:00 a.m. The service will be streamed live online at calvarychapelbiblecollege.com

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Calvary Bible College to be used to support missions organizations that Patrick had a heart for.

Praise God, another semester is underway. Over 400 Students signed up for courses and it was a busy week of orientation and registration. In order to welcome the Spring 2012 class, student services hosted a Bocce tournament at Winchester Creek Park. Both staff and students participated in a multi-heat tournament for Bocce supremacy. The Bocce tournament rounded out the first week and was a great opportunity for everyone to get outside on a beautiful day to enjoy God’s creation and fellowship with one another. Please join us as we pray for the students this semester to be equipped for the work of ministry and for the edifying of the body of Christ (Ephesians 4:12)

Today marks the last day of the Youth Workers Conference. The theme for this years conference was Sufficiency.

“We have such trust through Christ toward God. Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God. ”
2 Corinthians 3:4-5

What a good reminder that Christ is sufficient!

It was a great time to meet up with former CCBC Students who are now actively serving in youth ministries throughout the United States. At the CCBC table we were handing out semester shirts and information packets for Youth Workers to bring back to their home churches.

If you missed us at the conference or are a Youth Worker who wasn’t able to attend and would like information please contact us at ccbcadmissions@calvarychapel.com We have info packets for you to hand out and DVD’s that you can show to your youth group. Include your name address and the number of students in your youth group and we will send you a package. Don’t wait too long because the Spring semester starts February 6. To Apply Click Here

Merry Christmas and Happy New year from CCBC! Don’t forget what the Angel said in Luke 2:10-14:

“Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.” (NKJV)

And let us join with the heavenly multitude praising God and saying:

“Glory to God in the highest,

And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”

Take some time to remember the greatest gift this Holiday season, the gift of Jesus Christ. While you are doing that feel free to enjoy some music produced by CCBC students and Alumni.
